BERLIN: A Syrian man was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison Friday for two guys at the German town of Dresden, killing one and critically injuring his spouse in an assault a year which prosecutors said was prompted by anti-gay Muslim extremist faith. The state court at Dresden detained the 21-year-old, that has been identified as Abdullah A.H.H. in accordance with German privacy principles of murder, attempted murder and physical injury, news agency dpa reported. Judges ruled he conveys especially acute guilt, and which effectively means he will not be published following 15 years as is normal in Germany. The assault happened on Oct. 4 if both guys were seeing Dresden. Federal prosecutors charged that the suspect used kitchen knives to strike the 2 guys in their 50s from because they were holding hands and he thought they were a homosexual couple, he believed to be “grave sin.” He was detained almost 3 weeks afterwards. The suspect, also a native of Aleppo who came to Germany as a refugee at 2015, was released from prison a month prior to the assault after working out a juvenile sentence for encouraging the extremist Islamic Condition team and afterwards assaulting a prison guard.
