MELBOURNE: Schedule for the T20 World Cup T20 Men in 2022 was announced on Friday, and India would lock the horn with Pakistan in the tournament opening match on October 23 at their Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
To be held in Australia between October 16 and November 13, the tournament will be played in seven Venues – Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Geelong, Hobart and Perth – who will host 45 matches.
In the first round (qualifying), 2014 champion Sri Lanka and Namibia will play the opening match of the tournament at Kardinia Park, Geelong, on October 16.
They will join two qualifications in Group A.
Two champions Hindions West Hindions will also start in the first round, joining Group B by Scotland and two qualifications in Hobart.
In the ‘Super 12’ stage, Australian hosts will be in Group 1 with the world number one in England, New Zealand, Afghanistan plus the Group A winner and runner-up in Group B at the end of the first half.
The Indian Group 2 feature, Pakistan, South Africa, Bangladesh, plus the Group B winner and runner-up in Group A at the end of the first half.
Host and defending champions Australia will play New Zealand in the ‘Super 12’ stage opening match in Sydeny Cricket Ground (SCG) on October 22 in the Return of the 2021 T20 World Cup final.
The black hat will also overlook the England in Gabba on November 1 in the match back their epic semifinal meeting on the show 2021.
Two of the largest rivals Cricket world will go to the head at MCG, with India taking Pakistan on October 23.
This will be the clash of the first World Cup between the two countries in the MCG and came before two other fierce rivals, Australia and England, met in the same place on October 28.

The semifinals would be played at SCG and Oval Adelaide on November 9 and 10.
The final will be contested by lights on the land of Cricket Melbourne on November 13.
Australian Champion Defense and New Zealand Runner-Up Plus Britain, India, Pakistan, South Africa, Afghanistan and Bangladesh as the next highest ranking team have entered the ‘Super 12’ stage of the tournament.
Sri Lanka, West Indies, Scotland, and Namibia have fulfilled the requirements but will start the event in the first round.
The four remaining spots in Australia 2022 will be filled through ongoing qualifying lines, peaking in two global qualification tournaments at the beginning of 2022.
