Chennai: Coordinator of Aiadmk O Panneerselvam and coordinator with Edappadi K Palaniswami on Sunday led the Jobel Gold celebration throughout the party to mark the completion of 49 years since the party’s formation.
Arriving at the Aidmk headquarters at Royapettah here, in the midst of bathing flower petals, Panneerselvam and Palaniswami together lifted the party flag, mgr sculpture sack and J Jayalalithaa and distributed candy for officials.
A large number of party cadres and former ministers and party legislators are present.
Both leaders then presented a check for RS 3 of each of them to the family of five AIADMK cadres, who had died.
As many as Rs 15 lakh were given to families of five deceased.
They then released a special souvenir from the Jubilee Golden party, taken by Aiadmk Mouth Piece ‘Namadhu Amma’.
Both leaders also released a special album, containing party songs, produced by AIDMK It Wing and then inaugurated a community lunch held on that occasion.
Previously on that day, in an open letter aimed at cadres, Panneerselvam remembered the path that was passed by Aiadmk since October 17, 1972.
The party was established after Mgr was released from DMK because it was raised the question of the party account.
“Since the beginning, Aiaadmk firmly stands against corruption.
That is the reason, the party can feel success in a few months since it was launched at Bypoll to Dindigul Lok Sabha,” Panneerselvam said.
“After capturing power in 1977, the party distanced the evil force from the corridor of power for 12 years.
