Coimbatore: Headmistress from Middle School Government in Tirupur District is placed under a suspension on Saturday to abuse students from caste scheduled by using their caste name and making it clean school toilets.
Based on questions with students and principals, a report was delivered by district education officers after the District Head Education Officer (CEO) R Ramesh put the principal under suspension.
There are around 400 students from class 6-10 and 14 teachers in government secondary schools in Iduvai village.
Headmistress Geetha, 45 worked in school for the past 3 years.
Talking to Toi, CEO said that he received complaints from parts of students from grade 9 and 10 from school on Friday.
Although including students from the scheduled caste community, they said they were harassed by the principal using the name of their caste.
Next he makes students come from the net caste toilet scheduled.
“I visited a school with a team that brought questions and prime facies to be set after he was placed under a suspension.
Complaints have also been submitted at the Mangalam Police Station based on the question,” said CEO R Ramesh.
Senior officials from the Department of School Education said that the department’s actions will be carried out on the principal and he is likely to be ordered under the scheduled caste and the scheduled tribe (prevention of atrocities) ACT, 1989.
