Coimbatore: A 31-year-old man, who was accused of killing his 55-year-old aunt in Animalai in Pollachi five years ago, was sentenced to life in prison on Monday.
Arkani, wife of Palanimy of Odayakulam, was found dead at his house on September 23, 2016.
The seven-sovereign gold chain he wore was found missing.
Police Animalai registered a case below the part 174 CRPC (suspicious death).
It turned out to be a murder after postmortem, this case was changed to murder.
In 2018, the police received information that Brother-in-law’s son of Arkani, B Ravi Prakash promised to chain the gold in private financial companies in Animalai.
When the police took Ravi, he claimed to be the murder.
The investigation revealed that Ravi, a computer dealer, had approached his uncle Pananisamy to invest in this business.
When Palanisamy refused to help him, Ravi borrowed from Moneylender.
They began to harass him when he failed to return it.
“Ravi has visited Palanisamy’s house when Come alone.
He strangled himself to death with bed linen and seized his mangalsay,” Karthikeyan’s Special Public Prosecutor told Tii.
Ravi was booked based on part 302 (murder), 449 (Trespass House to commit violations can be punished with death) and 394 (voluntarily cause injured in carrying out robbery) from the Criminal Procedure Code.
D Balu, the court session judge for the courts of a bomb blast case, was sentenced to Ravi to double the imprisonment of a lifetime and a 10-year-high imprisonment.

The court also slapped the fine of RS 15,000 to him.
