Chennai: Biker and a pedestrian died when they were hit with a fast truck in a separate incident in the Tiruvallur district on Thursday night.
In the first accident, Balu, 37, Pallipet, driving a pillion with his friend Rajini, 40, with a bicycle.
The accident occurred when a truck coming from behind tried following a bicycle and finally hit him.
In the impact, the duo was thrown from the vehicle.
While Balu suffered a severe head injury, Rajini fled with a minor injury.
The duo was taken to the pallipet government hospital where Balu was declared dead.
In another accident, a 65-year-old man was fatal being knocked down by a truck when he walked on the road.
Chellaiyan, 65, from Pandur, was walking at the end of the road, when the vehicle hit him from behind killing him in place.
The police have registered separate cases and search for drivers.
