Chennai: Tamil Nadu hopes to manage shots to at least 15 lakh people at 20,000 camps on Sunday during the third edition of the Mega Vaccination camp, Minister of Health MA Subramanian said on Saturday.

This week, health workers will vaccinate people in more than 20,000 camps.

If we vaccinate almost 20 lakh, the percentage of people who have taken the first dose will cross 60% in Tamil Nadu, “he said.
So far, more than 4.4 doses of crore, including 23.4 doses of lakh in private hospitals, has been given in Tamil Nadu.
The state has a total target of 12 crore vaccines for 6 adults Crore (two doses).
While 56% of the qualified population has taken the first dose, almost 17% fully vaccinated, he said.
“At least 22 people lakh both maturity or late for the second dose.
We hope that all these people complete their vaccination.
On Sundays, we have kept enough covishield and covaxin,” he said, urging the elderly, people with diabetes and hypertension for get themselves inoculated.
The day after the camp, the Ministry of Health has offered a “break” to health care workers and there will be no vaccination in government centers on Monday.
On Saturday, 1.7 lakh people took a vaccine.
The total vaccination in government centers is at 4.19 crore while in private hospitals (since May 1), touched 24.68 lakh.
