Coimbatore: A 72-year-old man and his 68-year-old wife hacked to death by unknown people in a village near Kankayam in Tirupur district on Wednesday.
The police have formed six special teams to solve this case.
Police said the old pair – Palanisamy and Vallimmal – lived alone in Vannamparaikadu, take care of agriculture and dairy farms.
They survived by Chandrasekan’s son and Megala’s daughter.
An investigative officer said it was Milkman Ramesh, who first found the couple dead.
“He went to their home in the morning.
Because they did not exist, he entered the house to examine them and found their bodies with a few injuries cutting into the head and face.” Ramesh immediately told Kankayam and Chandrasan police, who into the garment business at the Garment business Tirupur city.
Kankayam police reached the place in a short time and initiated an investigation.
Senior police officials, including the Shasshank Sai Police District Supervisor, also visited the crime scene.
Then, the bodies were sent to the Kankayam government hospital for autopsy.
The police suspected the involvement of more than one person in the murder.
The Police District Supervisor said the murder had taken a golden gold chain of 7.5 sovereign.
“We have formed six teams to arrest murder.”
