Chennai: Head of Minister M K Stalin on Friday announced ‘Tamil Thai Vazthe’ as a country song.
The government issued an order to make it mandatory for everyone to stand while the song was sung during the government event.
However, the disabled people had been released from standing while the song was sung.
This step came a week after Madras High Court observed that ‘Tamil Thai Vaazhthu’ was a prayer song and not a national anthem.
The Madras court said there were no legal or executive orders that required participants to stand when the song was played.
The Court confirmed Kanchi Kamakoti Pontam Pyniff Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamigal when the song was played at a function held in Chennai in 2018.
In a statement, CM said Tamil still became a way of life of Tamil.
This is a reflection of their sentiment.
Tamil admired the language as Tamil’s mother.
Representatives from Sangam Tamil, scholars and intellectuals have been attractive to the government to announce songs to praise classic languages that are unmatched with rich literature, CM said in the statement.
Because private companies and educational institutions can play an important role in popularizing Tamil and advancing them to the younger generation, they must be encouraged to sing the song at the beginning of the event organized by them, CM added.
Given the request of Karanthai Tamil Sangam in 1913, CM stated that Sangam urged to make ‘Neerarum Kadealaudutha’ written by Bachelor of Tamil Manmonmaniam Sundaram Pillai as a country song to lead Tamil’s mother.
Since 1914, Sangam introduced and followed the practice of singing songs before the commencement of their annual program.
Sangam Tamil followed the practice.
Karanthai Tamil Sangam has submitted a request for the Head of Minister C n Annadurai to announce the song as the country’s official song.
On March 11, 1970, CM M Karanganidhi announced in the government program that Tamil Thai Vazthu would be sung in all government events for the next.
The government’s order was issued in this case on November 23 in the same year.
Recently, the Tamil Development Department issued a circular to prioritize certain protocols that must be followed by government departments and educational institutions when organizing the program.
It stated that the song had become an integral part of the government’s events held in the state for five decades now.
It must be sung by a trained singer and is not played using a gadget.
