Mumbai: 30-year-old tea seller has been captured by police officers Aarey Colony who allegedly because of stealing two-wheeled audience members from the comedy show set in the film.
The defendant, Ankesh Kumar, a first perpetrator, had told the police that he wanted to live a lifestyle like the people he saw came to shoot in City’s film.
Theft was reported on January 31 when Sunil Khatke parked two-wheeled vehicles outside the set of comedy shows and entered.
He forgot the keys in the scooter key.
Kumar stole the key.
But he knew it wouldn’t be easy to go with two wheels stolen without being caught.
However, he had not been arrested while removing a key from the key, police said.
About 1am, after filming ended, Kumar approached a brother of the attendance of the show who could not find an autorickshaw to go home.
He offered them two-wheeled keys and said the vehicle was his.
Kumar asked both to drive a vehicle until Western Express Highway, parked it there and found a car for home.
Kumar knew that when the police would check CCTV footage from the film venue, they would see the duo’s sister in the stolen scooter.
But the police team also checked recordings from the highway showing Kumar took a scooter after a sibling.
He was detained on Wednesday and was produced at the Judge Court.
