New Delhi: Delhi Cabinet on Monday approved the regulation of the University of Delhi University, Chair of the Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced.
He said the university would offer, among others, a four-year integrated teacher education program such as BA-BED, BSC-Bed to help develop a new generation of teachers.
“Today, Delhi’s cabinet approves the establishment of the University of Delhi University.
The university will prepare very qualified and trained teachers in Delhi himself.
Bill 2021 Teacher Delhi University will be placed before Delhi Vidhan Sabha in the upcoming session” Kejriwal said at a press conference.
“The University of Teacher Delhi will be a state university dedicated to preparing high-quality teachers for cities in various school stages.” He said university students would be attached to Delhi government schools during the entire duration of their courses to get direct experience.
“This will help students get very good practical knowledge other than theoretical knowledge,” Kejriwal said.
“Receipt to new universities will begin for the 2022-23 academic session.
‘Teacher University Delhi’ will be the center of excellence in preparation for teachers in pre-position and in-service in the field of education, leadership and policy.
This will work to bridge the gap between Practice, research and policy in teacher preparation while being constantly involved with the dynamic concepts and reality of quality education in the city, “he said.
The university will be established in Bakkarwala in West Dehli.
The Delhi government imagines to institutionalize the ‘Delhi Teacher University’ to become a state university dedicated to prepare for high-quality teachers for the city throughout the school stage, said Minister of Chief.
“This will operate as a multidisciplinary academic center that brings together various stakeholders (practicing and aspiring teachers, teacher educators, parents, administrators, policy planners, and content developers) in dialogue through various programs and activities,” he said.
