Vadodara: A teenager was dragged on the Mahisagar River in Lanchhanpur Village in Savli Taluka from Vadodara on Tuesday morning.
Ashwin Kandoi who was eighteen years old, who lives in Savli City, went to Lanchhanpur with his friends on Tuesday morning for a picnic.
Group of friends including Kandoi, go to the river to swim.
Around midday, Kandoi is pulled into the whirlpool on the river.
While he struggled to come out, Kandoi shouted for help, but his friends couldn’t pull him out.
After he disappeared into the waters, his friends called parents and police candidates.
The police sought help from the Fire Brigade from Vadodara to look for Kandoi, but until the afternoon the firefemen was unsuccessful.
Then, the NDRF team also joined the search operation but late at night, the rescue could not find the boy.
Fire officials said that the search would be continued on Wednesday morning.
Giving himself to the Mahisagar River in Lanchhanpur has been banned by the district administration because the incident that was repeated sank.
