Teens show extraordinary response to Covid vaccination in Assam

Guwahati: Vaccination campaigns for the 15-18 age group began at Assam on Monday, with students showing extraordinary responses in the city and districts far since morning.
The Ministry of Health has set a target of one lakh-children’s vaccination in 500 schools on the first day.
With 978 Covid active vaccination centers, more than 90,000 children in the age group 15-18 have received Covaxin’s first jambs throughout the state for free (until 6:30 p.m.).
Massive arrangements were made throughout the state to curb the possibility of vaccine doubts which may be the main minister of Himanta Buswa Sarma, his colleagues and MLA fan to various districts to encourage children to be vaccinated.

“All senior citizens with comorbidity and who have completed nine months since their second dose, will also get the third dose of January 10,” Sarma added .
Health Minister Keshab Mahanta simultaneously launched a vaccination campaign for Kecatrupup (Metro) district in the Boro Gopal Middle School here.
He also visited the Kalibam Secondary School and Kamrup Academy in the city to inaugurate drive vaccination in two old government schools.
The Minister of Development of Pancayat and Rural Ranjeet Kumar Dass inaugurated the inoculation drive in Sonitpur, while the Minister of Finance Ajanta Neog began a journey in Golaghat, Parimal Forest Minister Suklabaidya in Hojai, Transport Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary in Beetle and Education Ranoj Puru in Nagaon Regency.
The Minister of Handloom and Textile Urkhao Gwra Brahma and Revenue Minister Jogen Mahan was present in Chiran and Chanaideo District to launch drive vaccination.
Head of Bodoland Territorial Board Executive Member Pramod Boro launched a campaign in Kokrajhar Science College.
Health Department officials said there were no concerns of vaccine doubts in urban areas, but the greatest concern was in rural and remote angles where part of the minority and tribal communities had opposed the drive of Covid vaccination in the past.
Tanjungna Saha, a class X student, who has been vaccinated in JM High School, South Salmara-Mankachar District, said, “I arrived at midday and immediately got Jab.

Aminul Hoque Sikder, which oversees the vaccination drive in the Mankachar sector, said there were no side effects seen from the vaccine in each student, which was encouraging.
