Hyderabad: More than half of all middle year students, from batch 2020-21, have failed to remove the examination, triggering great anxiety between students and parents.
The results announced on Thursday showed that 49% cleaned the test while 51% could not.
Because the pandemic, the State Council of Telangana from secondary education (TSBIE) has temporarily promoting first year students, acknowledging in the academic year 2020-21, until the second year.
After a long wait, TSBIE conducted the first year’s test starting October 25 to November 3.
Many students connect their failures for the lack of understanding of lessons through online classes.
Restrictions on 40 regular physical class days, TSBIE and college management arranges all classes through Doordarshan, T-SAT and online lectures.
“I failed to clean my math paper because I could not understand anything taught in online class,” said S K Syafi, an intermediary student.
Apart from mathematics, the majority of students fail to clean the main subjects such as physics, English and biology.
Parents blame Tsbie for conducting a test in the middle of a pandemic, despite promoting students until next year.
They claim it builds additional pressure on students.
“The results revealed the Council decisions that were inappropriate to conduct examinations during a difficult time.
Now all students are in the second year, what about their fate? TSBIE must provide a minimum pass for all failed students.
Those who want to reappear for additional examinations must be Allowed, “said Narati Narayana, the President of the Telangana Parent Association.
Although TSBIE has cut the syllabus up to 30% last year, the teacher claims that the number of academic days fewer results in non-resolution of syllabus in many universities.
Bad access to online education, especially in rural areas, reflects further gap, they said.
“Students from urban areas with better facilities fate better than their colleagues from rural areas.
This reflects poor online education penetration, especially in rural areas,” said Madhusudan Reddy, President of the Telangana Government High School Association.
According to data, less than 30% of students from Medak and Vicarabad have cleared the first year’s middle test.
Despite several attempts, Omer Jalael, Secretary, TSBIE cannot be contacted for comments.
