Ahmedabad: After a lot of trouble, including a long wait for a visa, Rahul Joshi (name changed) was very happy to hold a ticket to flight 4 in Canada.
Because it was his first international flight, Joshi arrived at 8pm at 8pm so he had enough time to obey all Covid protocols, including getting a RT-PCR test.
The report was negative and the 20-year-old child was happy that what he had to do now was to take a flight.
So, imagine shocked when he walked to the check-in counter and was told that he had to pay Rs 2,700 again and underwent an RT-PCR test again.
Joshi, who has chosen the convenient and economical Dubai route compared to the Delhi-Toronto route, said, “I already have a negative report from the RT-PC test conducted in 72 hours from the flight, because it’s mandatory.
At the airport, I underwent a RT test -PCR when entering because the certificate is needed in Dubai.
It must be taken within six hours.
“The report was negative and Joshi was convinced that everything would smoothly sail.
However, at check-in, he was told that he had to reclaim the RT-PCR test because the previous six hours had been carried out.
“I’m confused.
I haven’t left the airport place.
If I know the rules, I will postpone the first test.
But now I’m back in a long queue.
I am very worried about losing my flight that I begged the clerk to allow me to go ahead of the line.
I don’t Alone; other students undergo the same trouble, “said Joshi, who will begin his civil engineering course at the University of Canada later this month.
“Can’t the authorities ensure that leaflets are not treated on behalf of the rules?”
