Testing for enhanced in 85 hotspots: Pune Collector

Pune: Collector of the Rajesh Deshmukh District on Saturday suggested an increase in testing at 85 hotspots in Pune to ensure the rapid isolation of the people infected with Covid-19, with the background of the rural area registering a weekly front department of 4.6% – 0.7% higher than the district average 3.9%.
The collector said Talukas were alarming – Ambegaon, Indapur Shirur, Baramati, Junnar and Daund – registering high weekly (WPR) levels.
“We have been told to increase testing in these fields.
Hotspots have been identified and testing will increase in these fields,” he said.
District administration has also identified 10 villages that recorded a case increase.
They are Wagholi, Manchar, Narayangaon, Shikrapur, Nanded, Otur, Nirgudsar, Shelgaon, Rajuri and Hingnibirdi.
District administration conducts detailed surveys every week to request new hotspot villages to increase testing in the area.
Health experts repeat that rural areas continue to be a concern in Pune District.
Deshmukh, district collector, said the fast antigen kit (mouse) that has been sufficiently obtained to increase testing in hotspots, other than the RT-PCR kit.
As many as 104 laboratories in the district conducted rat and RT-PCR tests.
Most of them are in the city area.
Administration is using cellular van to ensure a swab sample quickly transported to this laboratory from remote areas, a health official said.
“Collectors and Commissioners also convinced actions against the laboratory delaying Covid test data entry exceeding 24 hours, affecting the district WPR,” said a health official.
