Hyderabad: prove that poverty cannot be an obstacle to reaching a greater height in life, the son of a different unemployed man has broken the service selection board and will pursue his dream of becoming a combat pilot at the National Defense Academy.
P Sai, 17, who completed his intermediary from Telangana Social Welfare Saink School (TSWRS) in Rukmapur in Karimnagar District, is now preparing to join NDA in Khudakwasala, Pune, on February 15.
“This is my dream to join the armed forces.
After joining Sainik School, I have to know clearly about NDA and work hard to solve UPSC and SSB exams and remove many interviews and tests,” Sai told Tii.
Sai, who will be 18 years old on February 27, said the Indian Air Force was his first choice and he was happy that he would become a combat pilot.
He added, “My parents were very innocent so they couldn’t really understand my choice.
I explained to them that I had the opportunity to serve India as the Indian Air Force pilot and they were very happy.” Sai, who studied in private schools in the city until grade 8 before moving to Nalgonda, said his father had paralysis when he was three years old and it made him disabilities.
“We mostly survived my mother’s income as a tailor,” he said, added that he had two older sisters – one married, and others worked in a private company.
