Hyderabad: Justice B Vijaysen Reddy from the Telangana High Court rejected a number of petitions submitted by MBBS First year students who failed in their annual test and therefore maintained in the first year.
Students in their requests argue that the National Medical Commission (NMC) changes the pattern of exams from 2019 and in accordance with this new pattern, some of the questions must be in the form of multiple choice questions (MCQ).
Because many students cannot overcome online class modes, the authorities must enter the MCQ on the question paper.
But unfortunately, university authorities chose to pass MCQ and entered for complete descriptive mode, they said.
“They did the same thing in the annual test and also in an instant exam which resulted in a percentage of major failures,” they accused.
However, the judge, disagree with this line of thought.
“To give MCQ or not is university wisdom.
Even the guidelines on the paper pattern question issued by the Indian Medical Council, which is now known as the National Medical Commission (NMC), only advisors and is not mandatory.
Therefore, we cannot direct the university to conduct an examination The second addition is for failed candidates, “said the Judge.
Agree with Gorantla Pujitha, advice for NMC, who said that students came to court only after failing in the main and instant tests as a reflection, the judge said that failed candidates should come to court as soon as they found that the pattern was not aligned with the NMC guidelines .
The judge also described miss MCQ as a small deviation.
“It’s not the case of the students that the question given is not from the syllabus,” said the judge, while emphasizing things that students must be able to answer any questions.
The court also refused to give it to the university to give five grace marks to each student.
