Thane: The first cluster development project to be executed in Thane Maharashtra will set a template for the country to replicate in the future, the Urban Development Department Minister Eknath Shinde said on Tuesday.
Shinde discusses the media after an innovative ceremony from the transit camp to be built for the first phase of the project that will be executed in the dense nagar decorated with some illegal and neglected structures.
“The pilot project will be executed by CidCo which will be very helpful for all future projects and will provide clarity on the business model for developers who are time to avoid the same.
This is the first project to be executed in the state with a large scale where almost 1,500 hectares of land will be developed, “Shinde said.
Civil officials said the transit camp was being developed on the plot of convenience in Vartak Nagar spread at 1,645 square meters and will have 243 plots of 300 square feet for accommodation while residents.
After the building is ready, residents will be moved and their existing structures are destroyed to build highrise according to plan.
“Construction will cost RS 35 Crore and will be accelerated to ensure timely relocation and subsequent settlement of the first phase of the Brownfield project,” the official said.
Shinde, in his speech, said the rebuilding cluster was proposed for the city after a series of buildings collapsed in the previous decade.
A total of 45 urban update plans have been proposed for the city where six have received approval and will be immediately taken to execute so the Nagar Kisan project is executed, the official said.
