Mysuru: Industrial Minister Murugesh Nirani on Friday said that the third Pantha Pantha is needed to reduce the burden on the seer of two existing Peetha.
The state has two Pancayasali Peethas – at Kudalangangangama, led by Basava Jaya Mruthyunjaya Swami and in Haritha led by Vachhananda Swami.
A controversy began after a discussion about creating a third pearha which was likely to appear in the Bagalkot district.
Speaking to reporters, Nirani claimed that he had no role in the creation of Panetha’s third Picka, which is a sub-sect of lingayats.
The third pearha will reduce the burden on the seer of two other Peartha.
“There is a need for Peetha Third to reduce pressure on them.
Even though I am not involved in the creation of the third Peetha, I fully support the idea of forming a new Peetha.
Vachanananda Swami has also expressed its support for that idea,” he said, clarifying that there was no malafide intention for Creating a new Peetha.
“With a large population of Picamasali in the state, there is a need for the third Peeta.
I will meet the seer to discuss this issue only if I was invited.
Until now I have never attended a meeting called to discuss the creation of the third Peetha,” he said.
Reacting to comments by Kudaladanganama Pancayasali Panetha Seer Seer Basava Jaya Mruthyunjaya Swami at return contributions made by the Minister for Mutria who expressed displeasure to recurring acceptance about his charity, Nirani said that he made a contribution to Peetha and not to the fortune tellers.
“I never demanded a contribution again.
Someone has misled the fortune tellers,” he said.
He stressed that there were no questions about changes in leadership in the state and decisions about the cabinet expansion would be taken by the minister’s chairman.
BJP will win 130 seats in the upcoming assembly selection, he said.
