Mangaluru: Coast Guard Karnataka conducted an international coastal cleaning (ICC) -2021 in Panambur Beach on Saturday.
About 120 volunteers from the coast of guards, coastal security police, new mangalore port trust, Central Industrial Security Forces, Customs and Excise Ministry of Excise Participate between 8am and 10:30 in the presence of Commissioner MCC Akshy Sridhar.
International coastal cleaning is the largest voluntary effort in the world to clean the marine environment.
Worldwide, volunteers from various organizations gather on local beaches on the third Saturday of September to demonstrate their commitment to clean the coast and waterways.
The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) has coordinated the day of international coastal cleaning in India, and the same thing was carried out under the direction of the United Environment Program (UNEP) and the South Asian Cooperative (SACEP) environment in the South Asia region.
Volunteers eliminate plastic waste and non-biodegradable materials scattered on Panambil Beach and Tannirbhavi.
The event was supported by MrPL, Dakshina Kannada Milk Producers’ Union and Bank Negara India.
