Silchar: The State Commission of Assam for the protection of children’s rights informed on Thursday that a total of 17 children in the age group 7 to 16 were saved by their team in Cachar District.
Treading Media, Ajoy Kumar Dutta said, “Per direction of the Supreme Court, the State Commission Assam for the protection of children’s rights and the National Commission for the protection of children’s rights to take the initiative to save children from their situation on the streets, followed by The process of identification and rehabilitation for them.
“The Ministry of Health, Manpower, Education and Police also participated in the drive.
Then, children were produced before the Child Welfare Committee, Dutta added.
