Thiruvananthapuram: A guest worker was found dead in a suspicious state on Friday night on the railroad near the Kazhakootam train yard.
Pradeep Burman, 32, comes from Bihar, is the deceased.
His beheaded body was found on the railroad at around 10:45 a.m.
on Friday.
Even though Prima Facie seems to be an accident case, the police have launched the probe to find out the actual cause of death.
The police said Burman was killed not far from the rented house here.
The body was discovered by his brother and other home inmates, who went to find him after Burman failed to return home on time.
The police also said that it could be a case of death or unintentional suicide.
Guest workers near the railroad often come out and sit on the railway and talk to their families by telephone.
Other guest workers, James Oran, 39, came from West Bengal, had died in September last year at Stationkadavu under the limits of the Thumba police station, in the same way.
“However, we also suspected that it could be a suicide case.
His brother had told us that he seemed annoyed for the past two weeks after suffering an injury to his arm after an accident, making him while not going to work,” said Thumba Station House Inspector R Sivakumar.
Covid screening test and post mortem examination will be carried out on Sundays after the body will be handed over to the family.
Burman married a woman who came from West Bengal and had three children.
Wives and children currently live in West Bengal, police said .
