The brain dead women’s organs to save five patients

MySuru: The organs of a 45-year-old woman declared dead brain will give a new lease of life to five patients waiting for transplants in three hospitals.
Halamma was taken to Apollo BGS Hospital in Mysuru at 2.15 in the morning from a government hospital in Malavalli in critical condition.
He has a brain tumor and is shifted to the ICU for life and intensive care support, Apollo Hospital states in the release on Sunday.
He was stored in living support for two days while he was in a critical condition.
On the third day, January 15, at 11:45 a.m., he was declared dead brain from the failure of the brain stem according to the hospital protocol.
Halamma is healthy before the disease and this test confirms its feasibility for organ donations.
The family will be advised for organ donations under the protocol.
In accordance with the protocol of the organ donation, the official from Jeeva Sarthakathhe initiated the process through the list of organizers.
Around 16:30 on Saturday, two Nagma kidneys, hearts, heart valves, and cornea were harvested at the Apollo BGS Hospital.
While the two kidneys of women were donated to the Apollo BGS Hospital, Mysore, Heart, Heart Valves were donated to Manipal Hospital in terms of Bengaluru and Cornea to Mysuru Eye Bank, said the release.
