PANAJI: Two professional colleges in the state, Goa College of Art and Goa College of Architecture, will continue to function without a full-time head because of the State Cabinet on Thursday rejected the recommendation of the Goa Public Service Commission (GPSC) to the appointment of the Principal by loosening Konkani criteria .
The architectural principal post was empty because of his principle’s death in 1997.
A senior faculty of Iit-Mumbai was diaularly to the institute as the principal responsible until he was relieved.
Since then, different officials have been appointed to the post.
At present, one of the Professors of the lecture has held back costs as a principle on the basis of the manifestations since August 2010.
The Main Post of the Goa College of Art has fallen after Pension after its principle in November 2019.
The GPSC recommendation is given to the government, but was rejected on the grounds that the requirements of Konkani knowledge Can’t relax.
Earlier this month, TOI has reported that four major professional universities in this country function without regular principal or institutional heads even as high qualified candidates and experienced has been recommended for this post by GPSC.
Goa College of Engineering, Goa College of Architecture, Goa College of Art, and Cave Medical College are all headless.
Most of these institutions are under the control of director of technical education, and the question is now being asked in the academic group why the government delayed the appointment of this institutional head.
