Mangaluru: Within less than a year of full operation, the center of alternative dispute (ADR) settlement arranged by the Canara Chamber of Commerce in the room building here has facilitated a dispute resolution of 4.62 crore rs among various outstanding parties.
The release of the KCCI stated that the center, Brainchild from the last President of KCCI Isaac Vas, was inaugurated by Judge S.
Abdul Nazeer, the Supreme Court judge in March 2020.
Unfortunately, the Covid19 pandemic affected the smooth function; However, once a controlled pandemic, he began a full-scale operation in 2021.
In less than one year it functions, he has handled several cases, especially on business and trade issues.

Lionel Aranha, Head of the Focus Area of ADR KCCI, said: “ADR Center has attracted cases from the industry and has proven that the resolution was found quickly and efficiently.” Vas said he was happy to see ADR made a big step in the dispute resolution.

The KCCI stated that ADR was designed to resolve a dispute outside the courtroom with the help of a third party who was impartial.
President KCCI Shashidhar Pai Maroor said the room had made a conscious effort to ensure that the arbitration process did not imitate the court and dispute resolved after giving sufficient opportunities to both parties to tell their side.
