Mysuru: Former Karnataka Minister Siddaramaiiah on Wednesday said the BJP leader Rama Jois submitted a request for a warrant in the Supreme Court to challenge reservations to classes backwards, Dalit and women in the local body.
The RSS leaders opposed their hidden reservation and agenda was to change the Indian constitution, he said.
Siddaramaah said the central and state government must conduct a caste census to ensure government facilities to humans.
“The first caste census was conducted in 1931.
During my term as CM, a ‘socio-economic and education survey’ was conducted in 2015.
Census reports were completed during the Congress – JD (s) the coalition government.
But then CM HD Kumaraswamy directed the Minister of Welfare Social C Puttaranga Shetty not to receive a census report.
I demand that the BJP receive a census report and implement it, “he said.
Reacting to the BJP Minister openly revealed their disappointment regarding their portfolio, Siddaramaiiah said differences of opinion between BJP MLA grew against their leadership.
“The situation in BJP has increased when leaders do not respect the constitution and democracy,” he said.
Replying to the opposition Tamil Nadu BJP against the Mekedatu project, Siddaramaiiah said the government had submitted a detailed project report on the project to the central government.
“As it is now BJP in the middle and state, the state government must get permission from the center and immediately take the project.
No need to take permission from Tamil Nadu to implement the project,” he added.
Not for national education policies.
The central government forcibly applies national education policies without considering the opinion of the state government, said Siddarama, added, new policies will have a negative impact on regional language learning.
