Coimbatore: District administration has set a target to vaccinate at least two lakh people on Sunday, when it will set mass vaccination drives for the fifth week in a row.
Collectors G S Sector said the focus will cover a maturity population for the second dose.
As the data available, 3.4 lakh people in the district are eligible for the second dose of vaccines.
Collectors have asked people to use mass vaccination drives to be invested.
“Two lakh people in the district have not yet advanced to take Jab.
Most of them come from rural areas and we try to persuade them to be invested by creating awareness between them,” he said.
On Sunday, mega vaccination drives will be held in more than 1,400 camps with 3,000 health workers.
District administration has set 300 vehicles also for travel.
While this district has a population of 38.67 lakh, around 27.90 lakh of them eligible to get vaccination.
The district has provided 30 doses of the lakh vaccine so far.
While 91% of the qualified population have taken the first dose, 33% have taken the dose to vaccinate disabled people.
