Florida: The death toll after the collapse of the Surfside condo has increased to 78 after 14 more victims found, said Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava.
“This is a surprising and heartbreaking amount that affects us all very, very deep,” the hill reported quoting Cava.
Cava noted that the Medical Examination Office Broward County began working at the location with the Miami-Dade County medical examiner office on Friday as a way to allow several Miami-Dade teams to rest and spin.
In June, the building parts that still stand were destroyed to keep their own decline and to help speed up the search.
The cause of the collapse is still unknown.
However, new details arise about the integrity of the structure recorded in the technical report in 2018.
Experts who have reviewed the data available about the collapse saying the probe into the cause of the potential failure near the base of the building.
