Nagpur: With less detection of Omicron variants among patients who are seriously ill, the doctor has warned that the Delta variant can still circulate.
Samples only a few on the ICU are testing positive in the RT-PCR kit which is said, which is said to guarantee the detection of all Omicron lineages in the RT-PCR test.
It was deployed after the Omicron lineage, especially the variant of BA.2, missed the RT-PCR target (SGTF) attack.
District and citizenship authorities have bought a large scale SGTF kit for omicron supervision in December-January.
However, the strategy must be tweaked after several samples showed the Linade of BA.2 and the administration of buying the Omissions kit.
Samples from medium patients are very severely ill from medical colleges and private Covid Hospitals experiencing RT-PCR testing woven.
However, in this test also not all samples test positive for Omicron lineages, increase questions about variants.
Although the sample number is around 30, only five of them are tested positive for RT-PCR omisure which shows the omicron variant.
Negative samples have been sent to NIV Pune to ensure a variant.
The IGGMCH official said they had stopped the SGTF RT-PCR test and now sent samples of hospitalized patients to NIV Pune to sequence genome to ensure the variant.
IgGMch’s Viral Research and Diagnostics Lab (VRDL) is the center of Sentinel for Covid supervision.
About 30 samples from the center are under research at NIV Pune.
Dr.
Meena Mishra, Professor and Head, Department of Microbiology, AIIMS Nagpur, said they had begun to use the RT-PCR kit which was in demand on a positive covid patient sample treated at the hospital.
“Only a few are found carrying Omicron variants.
The others have been sent to NIV for genome sequencing.
There is a strong possibility that although it is being widely assumed that omicron and sub-variants are now dominant, delta is still not fully lost.” “Previously, we used kits SGTF RPCR and only samples with drop genes sent for sequencing.
The remaining samples have never been studied while different studies show an omicron surge.
Therefore, we must stay focused on Delta, because some people get moderate manifestations to severe because of Covid.
taken from a serious patient will reveal which variant is affected, “he said.
So far, the district reported 135 deaths in the ongoing third wave.
More than 500 Covid patients are still accepted.
