Pune: Daily oxygen demand throughout Pune District has grown slightly to 90-95 metric tons (MT) compared to the 85-90 MT period in the last week’s period, with food and drug administration officials (FDA) claiming readiness to meet jumping in oxygen demand .
In all of Pune divisions, the total oxygen demand was around 125 MT, FDA official said.
Pratap Pawar, Assistant Commissioner, FDA Pune, told TII, “Increased demand is only around 5-10 MT in the past few days.
The manufacturer has been told to keep the quota of 100% medical oxygen available.
Private hospital and the government are also asked to refill tanks The earliest liquid medical oxygen storage.
“Pawar said reminders on oxygen storage and refill were sent to all hospitals on January 14.
“The government hospital must save at least 60% of the oxygen quota if not 100%.
However, there are many hospitals that only have a 30% quota at this time,” he said.
Pawar said there were three liquid medical oxygen producers with a daily oxygen production capacity of around 250 MT in the district.
PCMC Head Rajesh Patil said oxygen demand within citizenship boundaries did not increase and they monitor the situation.
