Bhubaneswar: The state government on Tuesday asked the district administration to publish the committee to issue Covid-19 death documents for compensation payments to the next relatives of those who died in a pandemic.
The District Level Committee will consist of additional district judges, Head of the Public Health and Health Office, Principal or Head of the Ministry of Medical Higher Education Department (if medical colleges are in the district) and a subject expert.
“The Committee will be responsible for the issuance of official documents for Covid-19 death.
The Committee will follow the procedure as described in the Guidelines of the Ministry of Health and the Welfare of the Union Family (September 3),” Additional Chief Secretary (Health) of RK Sharma wrote to the district collectors and Commissioner of the city.
Requesting immediate action, ACS (Health) searches for a copy of the collector’s order that forms a committee within three days.
A government officer said compensation of RS 50,000 will be paid immediately by the office commissioner specifically to the next relatives of the deceased.
Family members of the deceased must apply in the designated format.
Compensation will be paid from the state disaster response fund for Covid death – starting with the first fatality in the country and until Covid-19 was not told as a disaster.
