Beijing / Shanghai: A building that holds the canteen in Chongqing in southwest China collapsed on Friday after the explosion which was allegedly caused by gas leakage, killing at least 16, said Broadcaster State CCTV.
At midnight (1600 GMT) on Friday, 26 people had been taken from the site, including 16 dead, said announcer on Saturday.
One person was in critical condition and injured people were also in the hospital.
The emergency management ministry sent a team to more than 600 personnel to the scene in Wulong Chongqing Regency, CCTV said.
