Bhubaneswar: The Special Forces of the Commission of Commissioners here on Monday arrested Hemanta Dash (59), a kind of thief, who allegedly carried out at least 500 theft throughout the country since 1986 and stole cash along with expensive household articles worth around Rs 5 Crore so far This is in his life.
However, he claimed he was poor with the bank balance only Rs 1,400.
Special forces led by the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Sanjeev Satapathy arrested the Dash, a resident of the Old City in Bhubaneswar, from Cuttack.
Dash is desirable in three theft, each in Badagada, the capital and police limit of Chandrasekharpur.
“We have so far found around 100 cases of theft towards him in Bhubaneswar alone.
He was arrested beforehand.
He had claimed before us that he seized more than 500 houses with the help of Crowbars in the state and outside after 1986.
He was also arrested in Mumbai And Chennai in the past, “said the deputy commissioner of the Uma Police Shankar Dash.
The defendant broke the money mixed to call girls and liquor.
“During the interrogation he told us that he had looted almost Rs 5 Crore in his life.
But we were surprised to find only Rs 1400 in his bank account.
He spends all the money in maintaining luxurious life,” DCP said.
Burglar is famous, whose wife and two children are suspected of being able to have been due to their criminal activities, is a frequent traveler.
Police said after commercial theft at home and commercial companies, he flew to various cities on the flight and stayed in a star hotel.
He used to spend between Rs 7,000 and Rs 10,000 per day at the hotel.
Dash told the police that he was a team of contributing in his college.
He reportedly secured 89% in the art of plus-II on the prestigious BJB campus here.
Dash was arrested in 1986 in connection with student riots on campus campus.
In prison, he came into contact with some thieves and began to step on the wrong path.
“We will take him to detention to be interrogated and find out if he is involved in other crimes in Bhubaneswar and other places in the state,” DCP said.
