Thane: a godown where plastic items are kept destroyed in a broken fire in the place here at Maharashtra on Wednesday morning, a civilian official said.
No one was injured in a fire that could be seen remotely, Thane Municipal Corporation, Santosh Kadam said.
Blaze erupted around 5 in the morning in the landslily-plus-two warehouse located in Walgaon in Bhiwandi City and thick smoke immediately swallowed the whole area, he said.
Two fire fighting machines and jumbo water tankers rushed to the place, said the official, added that efforts still had to control the flames.
The cause of the fire has not been confirmed, he said.
