Mangaluru: nine months after a large fire accident that destroys the dry waste propeller unit on the city waste dumping page in Pachanady, Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) plans to establish a fire unit there.
Over the years, the Dumping page in Pachanady has witnessed a fire accident, causing losses to corporate city, and troublesome locals.
The hambaction of a large fire in April 2021, has caused a big loss with the 65 lakh Rs song, after the engine and broken heart warehouse.
The Mayor of Premanand Shetty said the Civic body had ordered Rs 25 Lakh to get firefighting equipment.
This is separate, the water supply network will also be developed on the dumping page to deal with fires, he said.
Another other infrastructure will also be developed in Pachanady.
While the two more transformers will be installed to increase the power supply, the new dry waste collection unit will be developed in the dumping page.
While Rs 79 Lakh has been ordered to increase the power supply, RS 86 lakh has been subject to sanctions to develop dry waste collection units.
The washroom will be built for the convenience of MCC employees, with an estimated cost of 6.7 lakh, he said.
MCC has reserved funds for various development jobs to be taken in the city with an estimated RS 17.4 crore cost, under the grant of the 15th Financial Commission.
The development of a new garden park will be developed in Kavoor with an estimated cost of Rs 19.2 lakh.
The total RS 35 Lakh has been reserved for the development of Gandhinagar Park.
The total RS 30 lakh has also been approved to develop a park at Karangalpady, Mallikte and Kankanady, added the mayor.
