Nagpur: Nagpur bench Bombay High Court (HC) has requested forest authority to be present before a court on January 5, 2022 at 2:30 a.m.
at Suo Motu Pil regarding the survival of the Sarus Crane in the Sarus Regency in Gondia.
None of the government officials present for the latest hearing in front of the court.
The court observed that the approach was inconsistent with the purpose of environmental and forest conservation.
HC rejected the demand for government applicants to free government officers from physical presence, because they also failed to submit a reply to the notification issued several months back.
The petition relates to the survival of the Sarus Crane as a bird species in India.
It has discussed the Habitat of the Sareal Crane and the challenge faced by the authorities in protecting this bird species, which is said to be the highest flying bird in the world.
The only habitat from this bird is left in Maharashtra located in Gondia and Bhandara.
Amicus Curiae Radhika Bajaj told the court that the carcass of a Sarus crane was found near the recent Gondia.
A local daily has reported the incident on December 14.
The carcass of the carcass from adult Sarus Crane was found near Lake Parawada in the Gondia.
The court noted that it was most disturbing according to the news report that the hydropa crane partners were dead, if life, would also die because these birds were known to live with the same partner throughout their lives.
The cause of the death of the bird is still unknown.
“This disadvantage is the next blow to develop a crane Sarus population,” said the court.
In the middle of this news, the absence of respondents and a lack of replies from forest authorities forced HC to find their presence on January 5.
