Vadodara: The former Cricketer of the city has been appointed as a fitness coach for the Nepal National Cricket team.
Rakesh Gehil, who was thirty-seven-year-old, a BCCI Level 1 Fitness Coach, joined the Nepal team on Friday and its main role was to keep the players suitable for the upcoming cricket tournament in Oman.
“I have been employed as a reinforcement.
And the conditioning coach for the Nepal Cricket team.
This is my first international task,” said Gohil, who has worked with the Ranji team from various countries in the past 13 years.
He added that fitness had become an important element in cricket for years.
Tehil has worked as a fitness coach in the Duleep trophy, Deodhar Cup and Elite Academy U-19 National Camp National Cricket.
Apart from Baroda, Tim, Gohil has worked as a coach with Assam, Tripura, Andhra and Meghalaya Ranji.
He will now work with the former Cricketer Aussie Dav Whatmore who has joined the head coach of Nepal.
“I have worked closely with Gohil and he is a very dedicated professional.
I am sure the Nepal team will benefit from his extensive experience,” said Bobby Badola, former Cricketer Baroda and a close friend of Gohil.
