Pune: Maharashtra Minister for Higher Education and Technical Uday Samant on Wednesday said he would write to the Union of the Ministry of Education who was looking for justification for the appointment of Santishree Pandit as Deputy Chancellor (V-C) Jawaharlal University Nehru, New Delhi.

After talking to the University Administrator, Samant said, “Who will conduct an investigation of Pandit’s appointment considering his past in Savitribai Phule Pune University? The Maharashtra government cannot be because it does not have a role in appointment.
We will write to the Ministry of Union.

“Samant said the appointment of Pandit’s meeting had surprised him because he had students.
Only the Ministry of Union can explain his appointment, he added.
