T’puram: On Friday, the government will decide whether more restrictions are needed for educational institutions given the surge in the number of Covid cases in the state.
The Minister of Public Education V Sivankutty said on Thursday that the final decision about more restrictions, if any, would be taken after the Covid review meeting on Friday.
Sivankutty, who asked the Head of Pinarayi Vijayan, said the decision in this case would be taken only after consulting with experts at the Covid review meeting.
Discussions about whether offline classes in schools must continue or not in the pattern today have become a point of debate after the Covid cluster was formed in educational institutions in several districts over the past few days.
The source said the Department of General Education did not support the suspension class for class X students to XII at this stage.
If it’s the problem, classes for students to the ninth standards might be online once more.
At present, classes in government schools are held in two batches and they have a class of three days a week.
