New Delhi: The government on Thursday refrains to comment on the Supreme Court notification issued for applications that have been looking for direction instructions to respondents to take steps to eliminate anomalies by reasons of divorce, maintenance, and benefits, saying the problem is sub-chemistry.
Responding to questions at Lok Sabha on whether the government has recorded observations carried out by the Supreme Court in connection with “imposing a uniform civil code” for all religions to bring uniformity in the event of uniformity and maintenance, Law Minister Kiren Rijiju said the problem was waiting with the upper court.
In a written reply, Rijju said the Supreme Court had issued a notification to the unification of India in the writing petition, where the Applicant had prayed for directions to respondents to take steps to eliminate anomalies by reasons of divorce, maintenance and benefits for direction instructions to the Law Commission to Check and advise uniform divorce, maintenance and benefits in three months in the spirit of Article 14, 15, 21 and 44 Constitution and International Convention.
“The problem is sub-anim,” he said.
