Thiruvananthapuram: With the country witnessing a rapid surge in the case of Covid-19, the government has decided to restore the environmental level committee to monitor people who are in quarantine.
During a high-level meeting attended by the minister of local government MV Govindan, Minister of Health Veena George and officials from two departments, have been decided to strengthen the environmental level monitoring mechanism, which is a successful model in the first phase of pandemics in the state.
In all rapid response teams will be formed, and volunteers will be trained for this.
Kudounce workers will also be trained to provide awareness to ensure quarantine people who are tested positively or people experience symptoms such as fever.
The ministers have asked to strengthen monitoring in areas where more deployment and clusters have been reported.
Special attention will be given to prevent the spread outside of this cluster by imposing strict restrictions such as declaring a micro detention zone.
In addition, the local body has been asked to find out the building that can be converted into a first-line care center (FLTC) if an emergency occurs.
The local body was also asked to take over the mini space, the auditorium and hostel to prepare FLTC.
