The hall that grows the Konkani theater gets the main facelift

Mangaluru: Don Bosco Hall, which was built in 1951, under Konkani Natak Sabha (KNS), has received the main facelift after seven decades.
Renovated halls were blessed and inaugurated on Thursday.
The hall is located in the heart of the city, and has staged the Konkani drama with households every week, for the past seven decades.
It has maintained the growth of many theater artistes, musicians and others, for a long time.
The renovation began in February last year, and was completed in a year, at a cost of Rs 1.5 Crore.
The Hall Authority has planned additional work, which will be taken in the next phase, depending on the availability of funds.
As a history of the hall, 52 cents for Don Bosco Hall was bought for RS 30,000, and the Foundation Stone was blessed and placed on the fifth anniversary of the KNS on September 19, 1948.
The KNS was officially inaugurated when the first drama ‘Triumph in the trial’ was written by MP D’Sa The famous, staged at the Academy Hall of St Aloysius College.
On September 19, 1943.
Balai Don Bosco and Commercial Assisi Complex, Mangaluru, was inaugurated on August 19, 1951.
The hall was then the most modern and largest in Mangaloru.
Since then, KNS has supported several young people, dramatically, composers and entertaining several others.
KNS has held several social drama, historical drama, comedy, religious tragedy and drama.
All local communities are permitted to use halls for weddings and functions, with reasonable costs.
From 1964, KNS has held competitions such as singing, dancing, poetry, elections and many events for the Mangaluru people, to promote the culture and konkani language.
Raymond d’Cunha, the pro of KNS, said that the hall had reasonable rental costs.
The hall has received the main facelift, with the help of donors and funds from the hall.
