Deputy Commissioner Nitesh Patil led a meeting of private and government doctors on Thursday asking them to order beds for infected.
He said infections spread at a faster level and the Ministry of Health and medical staff must be prepared to handle the situation.
Apart from the backup of the bed, the teams separate from government doctors have been formed for patient care that requires hospitalization.
Administration has bought several ICU and HTU beds (high dependency units) available in the district and 30% of them must be provided for Covid-19 patients.
After January 10, 50% ICU and HTU will be provided for those infected, he said.
The special team from the Ministry of Health has been formed to monitor the situation and they will guide a private hospital, he said.
During the first and second waves, private hospitals in the district have worked together and have facilitated patients to get good care.
Administration expects the same commitment from the doctor now, he added.
Patil said the technical advisory committee (TAC) at the state level has observed that positive cases doubled every 10 days in the second wave but has soared into two days in the third wave.
When infection is found in some children and schools become Covid-19 clusters, parents must ensure children wear compuled face masks and use sanitaryers.
The government is ready to offer all kinds of assistance to people and they don’t need to panic, he said.
