Mangaluru: A house keeper who saved the children of insects suspected of being bee, died early on Thursday.
Commander Home Guard District Murali Mohan Choontharu said that the deceased was Santhosh Kumar Kateel, 35, from Kateel.
Learned that on Wednesday, at 4:30 p.m., the victim saw a group of eight children attacked by poisonous insects in Mulki.
He rushed to save them, and was bitten in the process.
He even made sure that children were examined at the Primary Health Center, and returned home at 7 pm, maybe without seeing a doctor.
He then suffered shortness of breath and died, said Choontharu.
His mortal remains were handed over to the family on Thursday afternoon, and the last ceremony was carried out.
Choontharu said that Santhosh joined the house keeper in 2017, and had served in the fire and police department, and conducted the task of Covid-19 and Bandobast.
He survived his wife and three children.
Senior officers from the police department and house guards have been collected in the RS 25,000 which will be handed over to his family.
The commander of the housekeeper will also write to the government to provide 10,000 Rs for immediate expenses.
Meanwhile, tribute is offered at the Home Guard headquarters on Friday.
