Last month, passenger car delivery reached 1,26,693 units compared with 1,53,244 units in the period last year.
Similarly, Van shipments fell to 10,632 units in the period reviewed from 11,816 units in January 2021.

“Sales in January 2022 again declined compared to January 2021, because of concerns related to omicrons and semiconductor deficiencies.
There is clearly a problem for demand for two-wheeled vehicles because of the lower rustic than the entry level model,” Indian Automobile Manufacturer (Siam) Director General of Rajesh Menon said.
On the other hand, passenger vehicle segments cannot meet market demand because of the supply side challenges, he added.
“Tricycle continues to be very affected because of lower sales,” said Menon.

Hyundai Motor India witnessed the delivery to 44,022 units last month by opposing 52,005 units in January last year.
