Bhubaneswar: The role of the Excise Ministry has been under the scanner for allegedly closing his eyes against illegally carried out dance bars in the city.
Although the government has not given permission to any dance bar to operate in the city this year, examples of at least three bars that perform involved dancers have emerged in the past month.
While Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has sealed two bars in a different place, Komisiance police sealed a bar in the Patrapada area last week because it was allegedly operating outside the closing time of 9:30.
The police also found that Patrapada Bar’s monthly fee update license ended on September 30.
During the crackdown in three places, it was found that the bar had dancers involved illegally, all girls, to entertain their customers.
According to the law, only the excise department has the authority to cancel the license bar and bar dance.
The police can only give them permission to play loud music and ensure that it is fulfilled.
