SURAT: Surat Municipal Health Department Corporation (SMC) is claimed to reach 100 percent of the first dose of a targeted vaccination of a population of 34.36 lakh on Tuesday.
SMC has set targets based on registered voters in the city.
The population has been thrust may include migrants and people who are not residents of the city, officials claimed.
It is estimated the city’s population is now over 70 lakh.
However, Diamond City to perform better than the other cities in the country that has not reached 100 percent of the first vaccination dose targeted population.
“It should be noted that vaccination continues along with the waves and the health of both teams focused on both areas for better results,” said a health official.
SMC has set the target of 34.32 lakh against 34.36 lakh has been given the first dose.
A total of 16.61 lakh people have been given a second dose too.
According to recent figures, 48.4 percent of the targeted population is fully vaccinated.
Total 50.9 lakh doses have been given by the health care team.
“Now we have the data they receive the first dose.
So, we can track down and convince them for a second dose too.

The health team also contacting individuals by telephone and via SMS to vaccination.
