Thane: The Maharashtra government will build four temporary truck terminals on the outskirts of Thane in an effort to regulate heavy vehicle movements in the city.
The decision was taken by the Minister of Development Department of Urban Eknath Shinde, Monday night, after a review of the review with senior police and citizenship officials to reduce traffic congestion that grew in Thane after Snarls Mative Monday.
As planned, one terminal each will be built in Dapcheri, Kharega, Navi Mumbai and Shahpur where all transportation traffic from JNPT, Gujarat, Nashik will be arranged and allowed to enter Thane City on a batch.
“Some Civic and Infra works are ongoing in Thane City leave a small road space for vehicles.
The entry of heavy vehicles only adds to the chaos so that we plan to regulate the flow of solid traffic that crosses the city limits until the road work is complete.
We will check empty spots And immediately start working, “Shinde said.
