The main land acquisition puts VMC in a narrow place

Vadodara: Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) must cough more than Rs 200 Crore if you want to take over the main land intended for general use.
The proposal for this has triggered a debate in the Civic body.
The main plot of land in Alkapuri behind the station is part of the Faramji compound.
It is intended for the Civic body to develop public utilities and parking.
The Civic body will, however, must acquire this land from a private realty company.
Realty companies have approached the Gujarat High Court who have asked VMC to decide on land acquisition.
If VMC decides to get a plot, it must pay around Rs 215 Crore to Vastu Broker Shilp Infrastructure Pvt Ltd (VSPL).
A VMC official said that the civil body had been trapped in a narrow place about this problem.
On the one hand, if it decides to obtain land, VMC must pay a large amount when facing the fund crisis.
At the other end, if VMC let’s go to the ground, it will be a criticism for siding in realtors.
This problem was brought to the Civic body stand committee for a decision but was detained by the panel.
Meanwhile, VMC will hold talks with VSPL to try to find a solution.
The chairman of the permanent committee, Dr.
Hitendra Patel said that VMC would get 40% of the land under the General Development Regulation and Control (GDCR) next year.
“We need to discuss this because it is not recommended to pay the whole country when we will get a portion of it,” he said.
There are other similar plots in the area that fall below the reservation and if they are also looking for acquisitions on VSIP lines, VMC must cough around Rs 700 Crore.
